Modern Farmhouse - through a simple but elegant collection of traditional built forms this house interrogates notions of what it means to live in an estate community

A painted bagged plaster plinth separates the upper private level from the public areas below while establishing a strong visual base from which the steep roof pitches upwards. Facebrick is kept to a minimum to describe just the braai chimney and garden walls. Certain key windows on the first floor are detailed with a painted timber cladding, further enhancing the verticality of the house in contrast to the horizontal plinth. The Covered Patio connects Living, Dining, Kitchen and Lounge which makes for a large entertainment area opening into the garden.
