Grace Bible Church Soweto - 7000 seat auditorium, multi-purpose halls and attendant ancillary halls, offices, consultation rooms and kitchen, with the 2nd phase additions of multi-purpose sports arenas and school

* First phase with O’Neill & Associates Architects

Paradigm Architects has been involved in the design of the campus at Grace Bible Church in Soweto over the course of a number of years. The first phase of development included the main auditorium together with attendant ancillary halls, consultation rooms, offices and kitchen facilities. The building’s passive climatic system was just one of the innovative ways in which the church was able to save money on the final construction costs.

For the second phase of the campus development, Paradigm Architects were invited to enter into an architectural competition for the design and contract supervision of the extensions to the existing building. Our firm was subsequently awarded the commission as architects and principal agents for the new 2000 seat multi-purpose hall (capable of hosting sports activities as well as varied gatherings), youth church classrooms for about 1500 children, a large gymnasium, two large conference halls and additional offices. In addition to the new buildings, the overall campus was extensively landscaped including planted gardens and an open-air amphitheatre.
